Summer Camp Fun in The Heights
The school year has ended, and planning activities for kids that are both fun and rewarding can be a challenge during their two months of summer freedom. This summer, the Heights merchants have camps and workshops for kids of all ages that will leave them with new skills and experiences they will be talking about all summer.
Staccato Music Studios

If your child has always dreamed of playing in a band, Staccato Music Studios is offering a Rockstarz Camp for children ages 9 to 12 years old with previous music experience. Beginners are welcome to take part in private lessons from a variety of instruments including drums, guitar, voice, violin, and piano. Classes are available throughout the summer, call 604-421-3753 to register.
Metro Performance Taekwondo Studio
Your child can release their inner martial arts champion at Metro Performance Taekwondo Studio this summer with classes for kids ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 12 years old. Classes for the younger ones emphasize respect and resolving conflicts peacefully and teaching basic self-defense moves. Let your child showcase their creativity with a number of arts focused summer camps and workshops offered at the Heights this summer. 4 Cats Arts Studio on Hastings is offering two to five day “choose your own adventure” summer camps where kids can decide what they want to create, from acrylic painting to building with clay. Art Space Children’s Art Centre summer camps aim to inspire you child with creative summer adventures this summer. Children ages five and a half to 10 can participate in either half or full-day camps with activities such as hip hop dance, musical theatre, singing and song writing, and puppet making. Muckabout’s mixed media workshops offers both half and full day options for kids ages five and above. The North Burnaby Neighbourhood House is offering one week summer programs for kids throughout the summer. Each camp week has a fun theme and includes a variety of activities including arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor play, and visiting parks, pools, and local attractions.
