Hats Off Day Announcement: It’s a Jungle in the Heights!
Lions, Tigers, Bears – Oh my! On Saturday, June 4, Burnaby Heights will be on display with a wild Hats Off Day like you’ve never seen before with the Jungle fever theme. The annual parade and street festival will unleash its inner animal as we go bananas in the jungle. With 60,000 visitors expected in 2016, the Heights merchants want you to join the adventure as the Heights community hosts this award-winning event for the 32nd year in a row.
One of the region’s most colourful grassroots celebrations invites visitors to experience the Heights’ unique, tight-knit enclave in all its festivity. Merchants shine with various giveaways, prizes, entertainment, and food as they take their “hats off” to their community. Numerous community groups are also showcased with their various programs and activities.
The Parade and Non-Profit Community Zone Application forms are now live on the new Hats Off Day web site. The Hats Off Day Organizing Committee look forward to all entries embracing the Jungle theme. All groups are welcome to apply for what has become one of the Lower Mainland’s biggest community celebrations.
You still have time to get creative with this year’s Jungle fever theme. The Parade Application deadline is Friday, April 29. The Non-Profit Community Zone Display Application deadline is Sunday, May 1.
