BURNABY, British Columbia – February 27, 2024 – Hear ye, Hear ye! Hats Off Day is returning to Burnaby Heights on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Hastings Street will be transformed this time into a magical wonderland for the 2024 theme of “Once Upon a Time.” For Burnaby-based non-profit groups interested in participating, applications to festival activities are now open and are available to sign up on the official Hats Off Day website at www.hatsoffday.com.
The Hats Off Day Organizing Committee welcomes interested Burnaby-based groups that meet the festival’s local criteria and that follow the theme of “Once Upon a Time” to apply for participation.
As Burnaby’s biggest festival, Hats Off Day is a time when Burnaby Heights businesses “take their hats off” and show appreciation to their community, and for visitors to experience this beloved neighbourhood. “While we’re following a fairytale theme this year, the real magic of Hats Off Day is how it brings our neighbourhood and all of Burnaby together,” shared Isabel Kolic, executive director of the Heights Merchants Association, the group leading the festival organization. “We hope the community will wholeheartedly embrace the ‘Once Upon a Time’ theme and bring their own folklore, fairies, dragons, heroes, and princesses. Costumes are definitely encouraged.”
This spellbinding and community-binding event is brought forth by the Heights Merchants Association and the Burnaby Heights merchants, in collaboration with various local community groups, and with the support of the City of Burnaby and many sponsors.
