Halloween belongs in the neighbourhood, and nowhere is this more true than on the Heights. On the Heights, Halloween is the true folkloric event that it’s meant to be – safe, fun and a celebration of a good spooking!
Trick-or-treat on Hastings Street
We invite you and your family to dress up and trick-or-treat with our merchants for Halloween on the Heights on Saturday, October 31. From 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Take your children to visit participating neighbourhood merchants along Hastings Street to receive some yummy treats. This is a night to give back to all the families in the community. All participating merchants will have a Pumpkin Decal on their business door or window.
More Heights Halloween Events
Make sure to stop by the Burnaby Central Railway at Confederation Park for the Annual Spooky (but not too spooky) Halloween Trains in the Dark on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31. Admission is $3.50 and costumes for both parents and children are strongly encouraged. The train will be running from approximately 6 to 9 p.m. with free hot chocolate and cookies.
Moksha Yoga Burnaby is hosting a family-friendly potluck and costume party at 8 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. Dress up and enjoy a friendly community gathering!
And, at 8: 15 p.m. on Halloween night, enjoy a professional fireworks display at Gilmore Community School.
The 2nd Annual Heights Halloween Pumpkin parade is on Sunday, November 1 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Bring your lit up jack-o-lantern to the Pumpkin Parade at Confederation Park (corner of Albert & Willingdon, rain or shine). All pumpkins will be composted afterwards.
