Michelle Kyrtsos and Amanda Evans, are the ultimate mother-daughter duo. Amanda has grown up with her mom being a stylist for many years and now has followed in her mother’s footsteps. Together, they own and run Head Waze Hair and Skin Studio.
When we asked Michelle why she chose hairdressing as a career, she responded with “I love hair! I like running my hands through hair, and styling hair. It turns out I have the passion. So here I am.”

The salon itself has been a part of the Heights for more than 26 years, but Michelle and Amanda purchased and took over in March 2013. With Michelle’s experience and Amanda’s sense of business, they decided that they would be able to open up the best salon together.
They were drawn to the Heights because of the culture of the community. Although the two women live in North Delta and Langley, they make the commute because of the family values that the community exudes. “I love that the Heights is so family oriented,” replied Michelle when asked why she decided to run a business in the Heights. She also mentioned that she loves all the good people, excellent restaurants, and the variety of different stores – not to mention how clean it is.

Simply put, Michelle and her team transform hair into great hair. They love their work and what they do, and it shows through the atmosphere at Headwaze. Walking into the salon it’s apparent that the team loves a good laugh. Michelle commented that working is like having coffee all day. Along with meeting great people and sharing laughs, her favourite part of owning a salon is that there are occasions when someone can come in not feeling good about themselves, but together she and her team have the power to help them feel beautiful.
