Hats Off Day
Hats Off Day is a community-driven event featuring the best that Burnaby Heights has to offer. Held on the first Saturday of June every year, Hats Off Day is a day where Burnaby Heights businesses take their “hats off” to their customers and the community. Hastings Street will be shut down to traffic, and filled with excitement, music, street performers, kids activities, and delicious food from Gamma Avenue to Boundary Road. With multiple activities and attractions for all ages, each block has something to experience.
Giro di Burnaby
The Giro di Burnaby is an exciting professional cycling event, attracting riders from around the globe to the streets of Burnaby Heights. Featuring both a men’s & women’s pro race, the Giro di Burnaby offers a prize purse of more than $15,000 in cash and prizes. A City of Burnaby initiative, this race is a gem for cyclists, enthusiasts, and community members alike! This is the race to be at each year.

Crave the Heights
Get your appetites ready every August, as you experience all the many flavours of the Heights. Crave the Heights is a special 10-day dining showcase for the Height’s diverse selection of food. Neighbours, visitors, and foodies alike can join the celebration and enjoy full set menus, special appetizer deals, Happy Hour features, and delicious desserts.
Halloween on the Heights
Halloween belongs in the neighbourhood, and this is very true in the Heights. Halloween on the Heights is the true folkloric event that is meant to be – safe, fun and a celebration of a good spooking!
Trick or treating on the Heights is back on Halloween 2023 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Take your children to visit participating neighbourhood merchants along Hastings Street to receive some yummy treats. Look out for Halloween on the Heights decals displayed on their windows.
Beware! Mystical characters will be roving along Hastings from 3 to 4:30 p.m., performing spine-tingling stunts and mind-boggling tricks.

Deck the Heights
With a focus on shopping locally for the holidays, the Heights Merchants Association is celebrating the season with Deck the Heights.
From Dec. 2 to 16, participating Heights businesses decorate their windows and compete for Best Overall and People’s Choice Window Display. On Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Santa will be visiting the Heights to spread holiday cheer. Swing on by!
Lunar New Year
Burnaby Heights celebrates the Lunar New Year each year with our merchants and shoppers. Lion Dancers perform traditional blessings at participating Heights merchants along Hastings Street (between Boundary Road and Gamma Avenue) to spread good fortune. The celebration includes giveaways for lucky shoppers and visitors.
