The Heights Makes Memories

Looking for a special gift or a unique new hobby? Consider Making Memories with Scrapbooking. Described by owners Debbie Siu and Diana Pesa as a "specialty retail store that carries paper, scrapbooks, stickers and embellishments," Making Memories has been in the Heights for nearly six years and caters to all levels of scrapbook and card making enthusiasts. It is also an event destination for birthday parties, bridal and baby showers.

Making Memories and its two owners are kept quite busy due to its range of services and the accessibility of their location.  "It's very easy for transit users," explains Diana, "so we attract many people from outside areas, as well as local customers. There are many shops and services around us which makes it an attractive and convenient shopping area."

This is not the best benefit of this area, however. "Growing up in Burnaby and living here... we love how involved the community is and the variety of events that take place in the Heights. Having lots of community events makes having a business in the area more fun and gets your business known."

"I shop for groceries, as well as eat at many of the restaurants, in the Heights. I love the fact that I can just walk out of my store, and get my shopping done, as well as get some exercise!" says Debbie. Being a new mom, this convenience is a great asset. Along with spending time with her five-month old baby girl, family and friends, her passions include scrapbooking and taking long walks.

Making Memories is a cozy and well-stocked playroom for craft enthusiasts of all types, especially those with an addiction to stationery. To sample some of these treats, sign up for classes or get a membership, check out www.makingmemorieswithscrapbooking.com or call 604-299-3601.

Making Memories With Scrapbooking is located at 4415 Hastings Street, one block west of Willingdon and across from Safeway.
