David Custodio's studio will make even the most camera-shy comfortable.

Portrait of the Man behind the Camera

For David Custodio, photography is a family affair. He came to the Heights from his father's studio on Victoria Drive, which spawned an entire family of photographers. David's studio also caters to family portraits, from babies to graduations to weddings. All Custodio photos are designed to custom fit the lifestyle of his clients, and become striking and communicative against artful and personally meaningful backdrops.

"We want to grow with your family," says David, who has operated out of the Heights for more than fifteen years. "Quality, time, and caring" are the foundation of David's professional and personal style which he describes as "hands on," even "warm and fuzzy." This style draws clients from all over, including local celebrities such as Nickleback. "The Heights has been good to us," David notes, describing the location as convenient and the community as inclusive.

Photography is David's passion, occupying what time that his young son does not.  However, he does play in an amateur hockey league and enjoys all the outdoor activities so easily accessed from this area, especially fishing. His passion for photography and diversity of interests are a combination for success.

This success is evident in the many awards displayed on the walls of the studio. Most recently, he received multiple accolades at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International's competition in Las Vegas. Belonging to the Professional Photographers Association of BC, David competes at Provincial and National events each year, winning BC Photographer of the Year in 2006. These competitions provide challenge and recognition, but David remains focused on the clients and their satisfaction.
