Light up the Heights makes the season bright 

 

‘Tis the season for shopping and celebrating and there’s no better place to do so than on the bustling sidewalks of the Heights.

To kick-off the festive season, the HMA hosted a community Tree Lighting Ceremony at Heights Fountain Square (Hastings and MacDonald) on Saturday, Dec. 5. The event featured sweet treats, family activities and photos with Santa.

Then Light up the Heights took to the streets with strolling carollers and surprise visits from Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the two Saturdays leading up to Christmas (Dec. 12 & 19).

Congratulations to Wendy Smith, the winner of a basket of goodies donated by Heights merchants. Combined with money raised from Hats Off Day, the HMA donated more than $1,000 to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau this year.
